Wordpress Upgrades - Protect Your Blog From Being Hacked

I have had two WordPress blogs hacked into in the past. That was at a time when I was doing very little internet marketing, and until I found time to address the situation (months later), these sites were penalised in the search engines. They were not removed, but the rankings were reduced.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that your hosting company will have your back as far as WordPress copies go. Not always. It has been my experience that the hosting company may or may not be doing backups while they say they do. Why take that kind of chance?

First in line is creating a password for your account. Passwords must be made with characters and numbers. You may combine them and make small plus altered letters. Smarter passwords can be your gateway to zero hackers. Make passwords that you can think of.

Take note of your password to the next time you sign in! I recommend the free or paid version of the software *Roboform* to remember your passwords.

However, get redirected here I recommend that you install the Login LockDown plugin in place of any.htaccess controls. Login requests will stop from being allowed after three unsuccessful login attempts from a certain IP address for an hour. You can access your panel whilst and yet you have protection against hackers, if you do so.
